HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! let’s talk about breakups...this week we interview Jenn Brown about dating a guy abroad, when communication gets lost, the difference between dating in New York vs. LA, and her “type”. We also share a few cute valentine’s stories! We’re so excited to be back after our hiatus to talk about heartbreak, dating, and moving on. We’re all in this together!
Eleanor's mom came to the podcast! Moms are seriously the best. They have already experienced so much. We should listen to them more often.
Kay was a fast mover when it came to love. She shares her journey through her divorce and then finding the right guy. We also learn that "Daddy" is not the best word to use. If I took away anything from this episode, it was that you need to find yourself a lumberjack and everything will work out just fine.
I think I was smiling this whole episode. Nancie is such a light and has the BEST advice. Hearing about dating when she moved to LA in her 20's; it was fascinating. Riley and Eleanor were trying to figure out if much as changed.
The best advice Nancie said was, there will be times where you won't love your partner but you stick around and work on it. (This is me paraphrasing but you get it.) It's harsh advice but true! This isn't a perfect Rom-Com. There will be ups and downs. Just listen to this episode. Please and Thank you!
Sean is the best! He brought us Garrett's Popcorn. This is clearly going to be an amazing episode.
Sean jumps right in with wearing his emotions on his sleeves. He reminds us to stay honest and communicate. He talks about the entertainment industry and how it reflects poorly on men. You won't want to miss this episode.
Mike and Riley go back to their college days! Whew! The stories they tell. They discuss how Riley's big break up affected their friends and how they coped. Breakups affect friends too! Mike shares his serious relationship in college and how he had to depend on his friends for help. He also talks about Big Bang Theory... just take a listen.
Elli is such a positive light! She laughs about everything and it is contagious. This week, she chats about being in relationship/break up, that is in the same circle of friends. If Elli can do it, you can too!
Advice: Riley and Eleanor have been suggesting the book, Modern Romance for weeks. Have you read it yet?
Any cute Englishmen out there? Contact Elli :)
I have never met Hilarie until this moment and wow! She is hilarious. I was laughing the whole podcast. There is something amazing about being able to look at your past and laugh about it. Everything seems like the worst when you are growing up and you have phases. Then, you meet that guy... Hilarie met someone great when she was in a not so great relationship. Take a listen :)
Your Life Has Phases and that is okay! To grow, we need to learn about ourselves and this is why we decide to boogie board like crazy or become an excellent kick boxer. This phase will help you grow. Look back at this moments fondly and see what you have learned!
José is so sweet! His life sounds like a movie when he tells this story. I won't spoil it but why José? We constantly have these thoughts of why me? The hard thing is coming out of that tough time and moving on. José dealt with his breakup in many different ways but now he looks back as if he has learned something about himself and about how he handles situations. This guy is just really smart and put together. You will love him.
When you have moments of panic just center yourself. Meditate. José does and you should too! If meditation means 2 minutes of silence, go for it. If it means giving yourself an hour to focus and release, find that time. There are apps, books, and websites that can help you get to that place. Breathe my friends.
